Welcome back, superhuman
Everyone in AI is probably guilty of exaggerating things a little bit (fine, more than a little bit). And Adobe is no different, as they teased a ‘revolutionary’ new AI tool. But to be fair to them, they might have a point this time.
And while everyone waits in line to get access and pay $20 for ChatGPT’s awesome new image processing features, a new tool lets you work your AI magic with images for free.

Adobe teases ‘revolutionary’ new AI photo editing tool
Just like ChatGPT made it easier to generate blogs and other texts without any prior copywriting skills, Adobe is set to release a new AI-powered tool that will help users edit pictures without any prior editing skills.
According to a sneak peek from Adobe, Project Stardust will have an “object aware editing system” which will help users move and edit objects with ease.
Judging by the video, the new tool will let users:
Move objects in an image.
Remove objects and people in an image.
Remove and insert new objects in an image, like replacing a phone in someone’s hand with a bouquet of flowers.
Change objects in an image, like changing the color or type of clothing a person is wearing in a picture.
The feature is expected to be released across a range of Adobe products like Firefly and Creative Cloud this week. You can watch the full teaser video below:

AI AT WORK
LLaVa is a free alternative to ChatGPT’s image processing feature
OpenAI took the AI world by storm last week when they announced brand new image processing features for ChatGPT. Unfortunately, many of us are still waiting to get access to the features despite being on the $20 monthly paid plan.
But a new AI-powered image processing tool was released recently that seems to match ChatGPT’s capability and does so for free.
Here’s how to get access and use it:
Go to the LLaVa website.
Upload an image in the panel on the left.
Enter a prompt related to the image.
In the image above I asked LLaVa to tell me whether I could park based on the traffic signs and it gave the right answer in less than 2 seconds.
You can use the tool for a number of use cases such as:
Ask for instructions to fix things based on the image
Upload food pictures and ask for the recipes
Ask for explanations of complex diagrams and charts
Understand what’s going on in a picture
