🤖 News: Figure raises $70m to build AI robots

Robotics startup Figure announced $70m in funding to build AI-powered humanoid robots.

CEO Brett Adcock said the robot is designed to help in a variety of commercial tasks from warehouse to retail.

While AI robots do seem a little scary (ok fine, a lot scary) CEO Brett Adcock does have some good reasons for building these robots: "The deployment into the workforce can help address labor shortages and over time lead the way in eliminating the need for unsafe and undesirable jobs."

Whatever the reasons, AI robotics do raise some important questions:

• Are these robots safe?

• Will they replace human jobs?

• Is this even technically possible?

• Should we be excited or scared?

It’s too early to answer any of these questions with certainty, but we’ll keep an eye out and keep you updated as we find out more.
