Meta set to launch AI chatbots this week to boost engagement with younger users

It’s no secret that TikTok is giving Meta a hard time when it comes to retaining younger users. The video streaming app has now surpassed Instagram as the most popular app among teenagers.

But after regaining some market share with Instagram Reels, Meta is now looking to get younger users to spend more time on the platform with the upcoming launch of AI chatbots.

According to the WSJ, the chatbots will have multiple personalities and work across various Meta platforms. The report indicates that Meta is working on dozens of chatbots, with some chatbots allowing creators and celebrities to interact with their followers. One of the chatbots is reportedly a sassy robot that gives sarcastic answers to questions.

Chatbots have seen a huge surge in popularity in recent months, with Snapchat’s My AI growing to 5 million+ paid users in recent months. Character AI is another popular AI chatbot platform that is currently receiving close to 200 million monthly visits to its website.

The chatbots are being tested internally by Meta employees, and are expected to be announced this week.

5 use cases for enterprise LLMs

AI is taking over enterprise and many companies are setting out to build their own LLMs. From workflow automations to copilots, here are 5 use cases for enterprise LLMs according to enterprise AI expert Colin Harman:

  1. Data Transformations: Enterprises can use LLMs to convert text input into text output, and assist in tasks like summarization, categorization, feature extraction, format conversion, and information expansion, all of which allow for efficient processing of massive amounts of text data.

  2. Natural Language Interfaces (NLI): Enterprise LLMs can be used to enhance the utility of current products by combining LLMs with a knowledge base or tool for automated question answering or basic tool usage.

  3. Workflow Automations: Enterprise LLMs can also be used to automate certain workflows to save staff time.

  4. Copilots: Integrating LLMs with other data sources and systems to enhance user productivity across a wide range of tasks like enhanced customer service and coding assistance.

  5. Autonomous Agents: By combining diverse tools and expertise, autonomous agents strive to automate jobs and replace human labor.
