According to a statement released by Center for AI Safety, over 350 executives, researchers, and engineers in the field of AI are sounding the alarm about the urgent risks and implications of advanced AI systems.
However, starting a dialogue about the most serious potential hazards of AI has so far proven challenging.
In an effort to break this barrier, a concise statement addressing the severe risks of advanced AI has been put forward. The aim is to stimulate broader discussions and bring these concerns to the forefront.
Signatories include high profile names such as Bill Gates and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman.
The initiative also aims to establish a shared understanding among AI experts and influential figures about the gravity of these risks. By creating this common knowledge, it’s hoped that a wider range of stakeholders will recognize the seriousness of these potential dangers and actively participate in mitigating them.
