TODAY IN AI

Perplexity has unveiled a new Internal Knowledge Search feature for enterprises. Source: Perplexity

1. An AI model that knows your business: AI-powered search platform Perplexity will now be able to fuse together internal business data and information from the web to answer questions that are more specific to your firm’s needs. The startup said it was its enterprise clients’ most-requested feature. Perplexity is also introducing a new tool called Spaces that lets users collaborate with others to fine-tune prompts and save files for later.

2. AI finds new viruses in the unlikeliest of places: Researchers used Meta’s protein-prediction tool ESMFold to uncover 70,500 new RNA viruses, including many that have properties unlike any others observed by scientists. Some live in places that are usually hostile to life, like hydrothermal vents and salt lakes. Further research could one day link these viruses to human diseases that so far have no known cause.

3. ChatGPT comes to Windows: OpenAI is rolling out a Windows desktop app for it its ChatGPT Plus and Enterprise users. A full version will launch later this year.

The biggest bottleneck developers face today?

It’s not writing code, but getting enough context to know what code to actually write.

That’s why Unblocked is so useful–it’s a first-of-its-kind tool that answers software development questions with context, in just seconds.

No need to swap between multiple tools or interrupt your team – Unblocked augments your source code with context from  Slack, Confluence, Jira, and more, explaining exactly how your codebase works and why.

It’s perhaps the best use case for AI in enhancing developer proficiency: Making developers themselves more effective, rather than just typing for them.

Start your 21-day trial and understand the "what", "who", "how", and "why" behind your codebase.

How to prepare for interviews using ChatGPT voice mode

  • Download the ChatGPT app on your phone and log in.

  • Now go to Settings > Personalization > Customize ChatGPT > Enable

  • In the textbox below, add how you want ChatGPT to respond.

I used the prompt: In voice chats, just reply with 'hmm' to everything I say until I finish the sentence with the word 'Done'

  • Click the save button.

  • Tap the mic icon near the textbox to activate voice mode and start speaking.

  • Use the prompt:

Hi ChatGPT! Please act as my interviewer. Start with a friendly introduction about yourself and me. Ask open-ended questions about my background, experiences, achievements, challenges, and future goals. Keep the tone conversational and engaging, with follow-up questions to explore deeper. End with a light, personal question and invite me to share any final thoughts or advice. Let’s get started!

  • You can customize the prompt and add specific details about your interview to make it more accurate.

FROM THE FRONTIER

NotebookLM now lets you fine-tune its AI podcasts

In a plot twist few saw coming, one of the year’s biggest AI sensations isn’t about image generation or chatbots — it’s a study tool. NotebookLM’s audio overviews features captivated users by transforming dry documents and media into lifelike, podcast-style discussions. Now, Alphabet’s surprise hit is back with some major improvements.

Deep Dive: You’ll now be able to tell the AI hosts who to talk to and what to focus on (i.e. generate a chat aimed at teens — or zero in on just one part of a larger document). You can now listen to audio overviews while doing other tasks in NotebookLM as well.

NotebookLM Business: Alphabet is developing a special version of NotebookLM geared toward enterprise clients and universities. It’ll let users collaborate and organize their research in a shared workspace.
