OpenAI drops new agentic tools for developers
ALSO: How to talk to your apps using AI

Read time: under 4 minutes
Welcome back, Superhuman. IBM recently found that 99% of developers building AI apps for businesses are interested in autonomous agents. No wonder OpenAI just unveiled a major new platform that lets developers remix tools like Deep Research to build their own agentic apps.

TODAY IN AI
1. New model can clone your voice with three-second sample: With $64M in Series A funding, ElevenLabs competitor Cartesia just unveiled a new voice foundation model called Sonic 2.0 that can capture the essence of your voice, including accents and other nuances, with only a few seconds of audio. A Turbo version has just 40ms of latency and is especially good at pronouncing things like addresses and names, with human testers preferring it 1.5x over the competition. You can try it out at no cost here.
2. Meta starts testing its own chips in a major blow to Nvidia: The Llama-maker teamed up with TSMC, the world’s largest AI chipmaker, on a new chip that could be used to train Meta’s models starting in 2026. In the meantime, it’s already using its own semiconductors for inference — i.e. hosting an LLM so people can use it in real-time. Meta’s move is part of a much bigger industry shift away from Nvidia. While they take years to design, custom chips can be much more affordable and efficient in the long run.
3. New startup lets AI perform wild experiments in the lab: Lila Sciences just emerged from stealth with a new science-focused model that it says has already made some promising breakthroughs — like generating entirely new disease-fighting antibodies and a substance that could be used for carbon capture. With $200M in seed funding, the startup has even let its AI conduct experiments in a physical lab, with some help from human researchers.

OpenAI unveils new tools to help developers build their own agents
OpenAI is feeling the heat. Left and right, smaller startups like Convergence and Manus are dropping their own AI agents, which they claim can tackle complicated tasks at the same level as OpenAI’s and at a fraction of the cost.
But the ChatGPT-maker just unveiled a new set of agentic tools that could shake things up again:
A new platform called Responses API brings together all of OpenAI’s latest agentic releases — including web search, Deep Research, and Operator — so that developers can mix and match them to build their own apps.
Plus, new observability tools can help companies track how efficiently/accurately their agents are performing.
Finally, an “open-source toolkit” called Agents SDK helps companies incorporate OpenAI’s agentic tools into their already-existing workflows.
The features could lead to an explosion of new and powerful agentic apps across all types of industries.
Why it matters: While agentic up-and-comers might be able to compete with OpenAI in terms of sheer performance, that’s only half the battle. Agents are energy-intensive and unpredictable, and hosting millions of users is no easy feat. OpenAI has plenty of compute and a time-tested infrastructure that arguably makes it far more reliable than the competition — and developers might be willing to pay a premium for that level of security.

How to talk to your apps using Concierge AI

You can use AI to “talk” to your entire stack of apps, with just simple commands. Here’s how:
Create a Concierge account (we snagged a no-cost code: SUPER3)
Click "Connect" and choose your tools–Gmail, Slack, Jira, Notion, HubSpot, etc.
Type a prompt, pick an AI model (GPT, Claude, DeepSeek, etc.), and hit enter.
Sample prompt: “summarize my unread emails in Gmail” or “create a Jira ticket based on feedback in Slack”
Concierge will instantly process your request and take action.
Pro tip: Start with your top apps, then gradually expand your workflow once familiar with the functionality.
