🧠 Insight: Has ChatGPT reached its limits?

Pedro Domingos, the Professor of Computer Science at UW, caused a minor stir this weekend by claiming that GPTs (the tech behind many current AI products) are reaching their limits, and that it might spell the end of the road for OpenAI, the company that made ChatGPT:

While it’s widely claimed that the days of scaling GPTs are coming to an end, talk of OpenAI’s demise might be a tad immature. With the arrival of ChatGPT plugins and AutoGPT in recent weeks, the OpenAI story probably has a few more chapters left.

However, the end of the era of massive GPTs does pose an interesting problem for many AI companies, and it remains to be seen what these companies will do next.
