1. Amazon’s new AI model could come this week: Amazon’s re:Invent conference kicks off today, and word on the street is that the retail giant could unveil a new flagship LLM, codenamed Olympus, at the event. Rumored to beat OpenAI’s GPT-4 with 2 trillion parameters, this next-gen LLM could reportedly analyze images, interpret videos, and generate entire video sequences from basic text prompts.
2. OpenAI faces the heat with fresh set of legal challenges: The Musk vs. Altman saga escalated on Saturday as Elon Musk filed a preliminary injunction against OpenAI and Microsoft, aiming to stop OpenAI’s transition to a for-profit venture and accusing it of engaging in “anti-competitive behavior”. This comes days after major Canadian news organizations slapped OpenAI with multiple lawsuits, accusing the company of illegally using news articles to train its models.
3. Australian bank sees big results with AI: The Commonwealth Bank of Australia just dropped some interesting findings on its new generative AI tools. The AI system scans more than 20 million transactions daily and can flag about 20,000 for suspicious activity. As a result, the bank claims, fraud is down 30% and customer wait times are down 40%.

How to analyze budgets and financial statements with AI
ChatGPT’s data analysis feature can be used to analyze budgets or financial statements.
Here’s how:
Upload your budget or financial statement to ChatGPT and give it a prompt.
Sample prompt: "Analyze this financial statement and summarize the key information."
ChatGPT will analyze the document and give you a summary of the key information, as well as an explanation of the key metrics and trends.
If you are not sure what any of the terms in the summary mean, you can ask ChatGPT to explain them to you.

Users uncover a puzzling ChatGPT quirk: It refuses to say some names
Source: Yilu
ChatGPT users may have just found the chatbot’s kryptonite. On November 30, ChatGPT user and a16z Partner Justine Moore pointed out that despite repeated attempts, ChatGPT refuses to say the name ‘David Mayer’.
What started out as an innocent observation quickly turned into a full-blown challenge. For days, people tried all sorts of tricks—riddles, ciphers, and creative prompts—to get the bot to say the name, but nothing worked. One user got it to say parts of the name separately, but combining them was a no-go. Another went all-out and tried changing their personalization settings to have ChatGPT address them as David Mayers—still no dice.
The race finally came to a head when Reddit user u/Bitanuki got ChatGPT to say “David:Mayers” and then successfully asked it to drop the colon. But the mystery got people wondering if there were other names ChatGPT would refuse to say. Reddit user u/jopeljoona went on a deep dive and found six other names that the chatbot just won’t budge on. No one really knows what’s going on, but the mystery has many curious users captivated for now.
