THE BIG INSIGHT

Goldman Sachs Report: AI could be bigger than electricity

Source: Goldman Sachs

AI certainly isn’t short of bold predictions. But Goldman Sachs just took things to a new level.

A new report from Goldman Sachs says that AI could have a bigger impact on GDP than electricity and personal computers.

The authors of the report think that investment in AI could exceed 2% of US GDP and AI “could boost global labor productivity by more than 1 percentage point a year in the decade following widespread usage.”

Earlier in April, Goldman Sachs had also forecasted that AI could increase global GDP by 7%.

The social media app that’s telling users to embrace fakeness

“Why be real when it’s fun to be fake“

That’s the opening line from an ad for a new AI-powered social media app called BeFake.

The new social media app lets users transform their pictures with AI and share it with their friends. Instead of spending hours trying to edit pictures to look natural, the app encourages users to embrace the funkiness of AI and express themselves creatively.

The app is available on iPhone and Android.
