‘What are LLMs truly useful for?’ Those are the words of Cathy Pearl, a user experience lead for Google’s Bard AI chatbot, according to a new Bloomberg report.
The comments reportedly come from an invite-only Discord chat for heavy users of Bard. Another senior product manager for Bard said: “My rule of thumb is not to trust LLM output unless I can independently verify it.“
Like many other popular chatbots, Google’s Bard has been accused of giving incorrect outputs and raised ethical concerns.
The news may come as a concern for Google but Jennifer Rodstrom, a Google spokesperson, said that debates about Bard’s limitations are a routine part of product development. “Since launching Bard as an experiment, we’ve been eager to hear people’s feedback on what they like and how we can further improve the experience,” she said.
Google sees Bard as a critical part of its future plans, as new rivals like OpenAI’s ChatGPT could potentially mount a threat to Google’s dominance in online search, which accounts for almost 80% of its revenue.

INSIGHT
ChatGPT user decodes redacted government UFO document using ChatGPT-4V
ChatGPT user Brian Roemmele claims to have decoded 100s of redacted documents using ChatGPT-4V, ChatGPT’s new feature where you can upload images to the chatbot.
Roemmele claims to have decoded a government about a UFO sighting with redactions. It is currently unknown how accurate the decoding is but Roemmele claims that he has observed “nearly 100% intent accuracy” when decoding his own redacted documents.
This development may raise concerns for many governments, companies, and other organizations that redact documents, and may require them to rethink redaction practices or adopt new policies to maintain confidentiality.
You can see the full video recording of the redaction process by Roemmele below:

I have tested this on 100s of redacted documents and I can say we are in a new world.
